Rayman for Atari Jaguar 64-  By: Lance Houck from "the Jag Mag"
 
Tired of Mario? Sonic to hectic? Try Rayman. Rayman is a fun side scrolling
game with excellent graphics.

Graphics-
I would say the graphics for this game were outstanding! I have played alot
of Jaguar games and i know good work when i see it. To say the least when i
look at other Jag games graphic wise i almost want to see something more
but with this game i think it truly shows the 64 power of the Jag. It is
like being in a strange cartoon. I feel like Walt Disney could have been
helping with the productin of this game. The frame rate is very nice too. I
mean its very smooth as if you playing a game on Playstation or N64. (this
game actually did come out for Playstation) Anyway, The Graphics are
probablly some of the best animated graphics for the Jag. Yes it is 2D but
is is awesome 2d. If you want a good graphic game here it is.

Sound-
The music in this game was good. I like how the songs can be tense
sometimes yet at other times its really nice and bouncy. The Music really
adds i think, but sometimes it can be a bit annoying. The Sound FX in this
game were cool too like all the noises it makes even when you land on the
ground. They add alot to the game. If you have the music down but sound FX
up you can really see what i mean. They do alot of cool things like the fly
on Band Land who makes that buzzing noise. Little stuff like that really
adds. The sound was good.

Control-
The control in this game is okay. Sometimes it is hard to pinpoint where
you might land when you jump but then again on WMCJ its hard to figure out
how to do dunks. It responds quickly too, its not like you have to hit it
and keep hitting it and then when you died say, "The game totally cheats."
Sometimes it also takes a long time for his hand to punch but that is also
why they have speed so when you get speed you can hit faster. All in all it
plays really nice. Rayman moves quite smooth in stead of choppy like some
Playstation or N64 games. 

Challenge-

This game i must say is not a game where the minute you get it you know how
to play. It takes time and skill. When I got it i sat down and thought it
was cool i just realized though that it was also really hard. It is hard.
Some puzzles take a long time to figure out and you just have to pass some
levels up and go back and complete them. It takes time like i said to know
certain things about your enemies and like where the Electoons will be
hidden on each level. So when get it dont be discouraged its an awesome
game, just stick with it and keep trying. I mean if my bro who is 5 can
beat the first world then it isnt impossible just tough.

Fun Factor- 

This game, Once you get the hang of it, is really fun! It has some hard
parts yes. But it is really fun to watch and fun to play. When you beat a
world you feel like you conquered the world its awesome. I think it is one
of my best games that i have for Jag. I really like watching the graphics
and also completing certain goals.
It is a hecka fun game.
