3D Action:

  1. Iron Soldier 2 CD
  2. BattleMorph
  3. Zero-5
  4. Missile Command 3D
  5. Iron Soldier
  6. Hover Strike CD
  7. Blue Lightning
  8. I-War
  9. CyberMorph
  10. Hover Strike
  11. Aircars
Iron Soldier 2 cart (haven't played it yet)

IS2 is tops, but BattleMorph isn't very far behind at all. Both are must-haves for anyone with a Jag CD. I haven't played the cart version of IS2 yet, but it's only lacking the music and FMV from the CD, so it should be an excellent choice too. Zero-5 is definitely a tough game, but it's a great button-mashing space shooter with style. Stay away from Aircars =)
3D Action:

  2. BattleMorph
  3. Zero-5
  4. Missile Command 3D
  5. Iron Soldier
  6. Aircars
  7. I-War
  8. Hover Strike CD
  9. Blue Lightning
  10. CyberMorph
  11. Hover Strike

Ahh, Iron Soldier 2. What more really needs to be said? This is top-of-the-line gaming on the Jag. You get the best of both worlds with this game, thanks to Telegames. Get the CD version for all the music and FMV, or if you don't have a JagCD, pick up the Limited Edition cartridge! Battlemorph and Zero-5 come in a very close second and third, as both offer unique action experiences. This is definitely the Jag's strongest category.
3D Shooter:

  1. Alien Vs. Predator
  2. Doom
  3. Towers II
  4. Wolf 3D

I picked AvP because it's unlike other 3D shooters and it was/is just so much more impressive than the others. Other than that, it's a pretty tight-knit competition. You really can't go wrong with any of these games.
3D Shooter:

  1. Doom
  2. Alien Vs. Predator
  3. Towers II
  4. Wolf 3D

Doom over AvP? Well, I've enjoyed JagDoom more than AvP in the long run. Don't get me wrong, AvP is a great game, but for those times when you want to sit down and blast a few baddies, Doom is tops. Add to that the fact that Doom is networkable, and you get a great multiplayer experience along with the time-tested one player mode. Kill some cacodemons!
2D/Arcade:

  1. Tempest 2000
  2. Defender 2000
  3. Pinball Fantasies
  4. Ruiner Pinball
  5. Raiden
  6. Breakout 2000
  7. Trevor McFur

Minter owns this category with T2K and D2K. It was very hard for me to pick between the two, but T2K gets the prize for having just a bit more replay value. I like both of the pinball games quite a bit, but Pinball Fantasies wins it because it has more tables. Raiden is fun after all this time, but Breakout grew old pretty quickly with me. Graphics can't save Trevor Mcfur.
2D/Arcade:

  1. Tempest 2000
  2. Defender 2000
  3. Pinball Fantasies
  4. Raiden
  5. Breakout 2000
  6. Ruiner Pinball
  7. Trevor McFur

No contest here...Mr. Minter takes up the top 2 spots with his mind-melting super-fast updates of the classics Tempest and Defender. T2K is the one "Must have" game for the Jaguar, IMHO. If a game inspires you to build your own controller for it, it must be good!
Puzzle:

  1. Myst
  2. Dino Dudes
  3. Flip Out!
  4. Zoop
  5. Vid Grid

I hadn't played Myst until I got the Jag version. I stayed up for hours trying to solve the puzzles, intrigued by the cool storyline and great graphics and sound/music. Dino Dudes is nothing exciting to look at, but I thought it was a lot of fun making my way through the 80 levels and I also liked the music. Flip Out is another good one, but Zoop and Vid Grid get a bit too hard too fast, IMO.
Puzzle:

  1. Flip Out!
  2. Dino Dudes
  3. Vid Grid
  4. Myst
  5. Zoop

This isn't a very strong area for the Jaguar. While all these games are enjoyable puzzlers, none really grab your attention like "Bust-a-move" or "Tetris" would. Some nice diversions, but nothing spectacular.
Sports:

  1. NBA JAM TE
  2. Fever Pitch Soccer
  3. Brutal Sports Football
  4. Troy Aikman Football
  5. International Sensible Soccer
  6. White Men Can't Junp

NBA JAM TE is an absolute great game. It's the best conversion of NBA JAM that I've ever seen. Fever Pitch is a nice Soccer game and Brutal Sports Football is a killer game -- great for 2 players. Troy Aikman and Sensible Soocer are OK, but WMCJ is just too slow to be enjoyable.
Sports:

  1. NBA JAM TE
  2. Brutal Sports Football
  3. Fever Pitch Soccer
  4. White Men Can't Junp
  5. Troy Aikman Football
  6. International Sensible Soccer

While there may not be much selection, there is one gem in the Jaguar's sports lineup - NBA Jam. This is the closest arcade translation of TE I've seen, beating out the CD versions by not having any load times. Plenty of hidden characters, a bunch of cool Easter Eggs, and tons of replayability, this game stands tall. Brutal Sports Football is a very chaotic and fun football/rugby/soccer mishmash with heads and blood flying everywhere. Blatant violence is great!
Fighting:

  1. Ultra Vortek
  2. Fight For Life
  3. Primal Rage
  4. Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story
  5. Kasumi Ninja
  6. Double Dragon V

Ultra Vortek is *still* one of my favorite fighters of all time. It just has totally awesome gameplay balance. Fight for Life can be a blast if you stick with it and learn the combos. Primal Rage may have some nagging load times, but it's still a great one to play with a friend. Double Dragon V is a freakin' piece of $#!^...
Fighting:

  1. Ultra Vortek
  2. Fight For Life
  3. Primal Rage
  4. Kasumi Ninja
  5. Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story
  6. Double Dragon V

Ultra Vortek takes this category hands-down. While the game may have a select group of fighters, each is quite varied in their styles and have tons of special moves each. Fatalities, Poopalities, sharp visuals and nice sound make this a winner. FFL is a slow-paced and technical fighter that provides some good gaming, while Double Dragon V is a disgrace to the Jaguar and for videogaming in general.
Racer/Driving:

  1. Super Burnout
  2. Atari Karts
  3. World Tour Racing
  4. Power Drive Rally
  5. Val D'Isere Skiing and Snowboarding
  6. Club Drive
  7. Supercross 3D
  8. Checkered Flag

Super Burnout is great! Super-smooth 60 FPS and 8 smooth tracks make it a lot of fun to try to get a record time. I like Atari Karts mainly for the music =) You can't go wrong if you pick any of the top 5 here, but if you can get ahold of Club Drive cheap, go for it. It's a blast to play with a friend.
Racer/Driving:

  1. Power Drive Rally
  2. World Tour Racing
  3. Atari Karts
  4. Super Burnout
  5. Val D'Isere Skiing and Snowboarding
  6. Club Drive
  7. Supercross 3D
  8. Checkered Flag
Looking for RC Pro AM on steroids? If so, then Power Drive Rally is your game. Time Warner really packed in some top-notch graphics and animation into this cart. If F1-style racing is more your style, then avoid Checkered Flag and go for World Tour Racing.
Platformer:

  1. Rayman
  2. Zool 2
  3. Pitfall
  4. Bubsy

Rayman gives you a completely polished package. Zool 2 is a good free-for-all, jump all over the place game with some smooth tunes. Pitfall is very good as well. Most people really hate Bubsy, but I have a lot of fun with it.
Platformer:

  1. Rayman
  2. Pitfall
  3. Zool 2
  4. Bubsy

What have we here? Rayman is one truly outstanding game. Don't let the cutsey graphics fool you - this is one tough game. Getting 100% has never been so fun! For platformers on the Jag, no others even come close.
Action/Strategy:

  1. Worms
  2. Highlander
  3. Attack of the Mutant Penguins
  4. Cannon Fodder
  5. Baldies
  6. Flashback
  7. Syndicate
  8. Theme Park

Worms is just a great game to plug in and play anytime. Highlander is a great adventure on Jag CD, just a bit too short. Attack of the Mutant Penguins offers some some interesting gameplay, smooth graphics and great sound effects. Cannon Fodder is a lot of fun, but it's also awfully tough. Baldies is a good "rule the world" type game. The other 3 are basically direct 16-bit ports, but can still be a lot of fun.
Action/Strategy:

  1. Worms
  2. Attack of the Mutant Penguins
  3. Cannon Fodder
  4. Highlander
  5. Theme Park
  6. Flashback
  7. Baldies
  8. Syndicate

Worms...one of the most fun games I've ever played on any platform. Battle it out with a few friends and the fun factor skyrockets. Who can resist little worms with bazookas taunting each other in their squeaky little voices? Take cover!
FMV:

  1. Braindead 13
  2. Dragon's Lair
  3. Space Ace

Braindead 13 is definitely the best game of this type because there are so many paths you can choose. Even tho the save game option doesn't work, it's still just as beatable as Dragon's Lair. I agree with Kevin on Space Ace.
FMV:

  1. Dragon's Lair
  2. Braindead 13
  3. Space Ace

Dragon's Lair has to take top honors here as being the best of the FMV bunch. Braindead could have easily been #1 if it weren't lacking one thing - a functional save-game feature. I'm sure I would have played it a lot more if I could have saved my progress. Get Space Ace only if you're a fan, or want a complete Jaguar collection...this is one BAD conversion.
